Washington Car Insurance
Washington Car Insurance
Washington requires all drivers to have the minimum amount allowed for car insurance. The required amounts are at least 25/50/10. Failure to comply by these laws can result in a $450 dollar, at least, and the possibility of losing your driving privileges. Your car insurance cards must display the following information to be legal:
- Policy holder’s name and address
- Car insurance company’s name and address, as well as, policy number
- The dates the car insurance is effective and expires
- Description of vehicles insured (year, make, and model)
If you own a car dealership and own more than 26 vehicles, you can apply for a fleet account. In these cases, descriptions of all your vehicles are not necessary on the car insurance card, just the word, “fleet”. If you do choose to insure as a fleet account, you must have a certificate of financial responsibility, or a liability bond showing you are financially secure.
The only way you can get out of not having to purchase a car insurance policy is to own one of the following:
- Antique car older than 30 years.
- Public vehicle owned by government
- Motorcycle or Moped
- Vehicles registered by the utility company or transportation commission.
